Hello again and what's the consensus on Valvoline full synthetic MaxLife? I haven't ever tried this oil. I haven't read or searched for any UOA's of it also. Any info, thoughts and or success stories or in general advice is appreciated. I ask because I was wondering if you folks here thought it could do a 7,500 mile run

I've looked at the TDS on it on Valvolines site and it looked really good. TBN is around 8.5 or 8.8 but it really looks good. I was looking at it for the 98 Camry. I would run it Ina heartbeat. Its on rollback at wally world for $18.18 in the 10w30 version. That's a very good deal. I agree with the gentleman from California... Roll out and rock on with it

High post counts happen, LOL!

Anybody who is relatively active on the board will have a reasonably high number of posts. There is plenty to discuss on a myriad of topics so if you find those topics engaging you'll be running up your post count in short order.

This is of course not to be confused with "me too'ing" or garbage posting your way to a high post count like GHT did in his many incarnations.

Totally agree with you OVERKILL and with a plethora of topics --- your post count can run up quickly!! GHT did make me laugh many of times over the years with some of his nonsense -- I have to admit!!! Lol

GHT from what I read was a "genuine" individual LOL! So MaxLife no longer has Moly, ;(. Seems the MaxLife in synblend or full syn is good stuff thiugh

Wow, I didn't notice that. That is impressive man. Nothing wrong with that ... the more active you are on here, the more helpful you can be to others (and the more help you can receive if you need it).

It's good oil .... I am considering using a high mileage oil down the road. If I do, I don't know which one it will be. MaxLife is included in the ones I am considering.

Thanks to both of you guys. So to ask the other age old question: is there anything bad or wrong running a high mileage oil in a newer/ish car such as my 58k 2011 Focus?

No, but by the same token I can't see it being of any benefit either.

All right.. I agree 100% with you. Now is there any truth that once you use a HM oil you can't go back to another non HM oil?? I am leaning towards that not being true at all. But just curious.

No, I imagine that myth is in the same category of once going synthetic you can never go back
