According to Valvoline's PI, the Trap and Lock technology prevents damage from fuel and water. In other words, fuel dilution and condensation, due to the engine not getting hot enough or to Temp.

It is supposed to prevent the milky white foam from forming? A FB user posted his oil fill cap at 1000 miles, with what I can assume to be factory fill. I'm currently using this.

Sounds like a good candidate for a winter run here in NW Ohio. I just changed out hpl to cheap pennzoil high mileage synthetic, not platinum, just “synthetic”. With January and February on tap, I’ll have the milkshake under my oil cap.

My Sienna looked nothing like that at 1000 miles, however, I do drive to church outside of town on Sunday's, so maybe that drive is enough to cook stuff out?

I'll take a look tonight once I get home to see what it looks like with our Christmas prep running around. I used Pennzoil Platinum 0w-16 for my 1000 mile change, and will change again at 5000 miles, which will include our 600 mile trip to and from Northern IL. I am interested in an oil that is Hybrid specific, however, as I do have concerns about the engine starting and stopping.

M1 hybrid oil has the same features.

Regarding the Trap and Lock technology....wouldn't the water molecules "suspended in the oil" reduce the VI?

So this is basically oil? My local advance has it on clearance, but none of my cars are hybrids lol.

Just a thought. Water not being as good a lubricant. The the fact that water and oil dont mix. Perhaps I am overestimating the amount of water.
Agreed that water is not a good lubricant. Just like fuel. I was mostly interested in your comment about it affecting the viscosity index.

It will definitely lower the viscosity. Considering it it evaporates at 100C, it would have a really low VI if it was graded (probably it already has?).

Interesting...local Walmart pricing is $34.97/jug. Not a good value. I will check local AAP. I will definitely try it if on clearance.
