Valvoline Formula 5000 oils.

Does anyone know anything about Valvoline Formula 5000 oils.

Are these just a low cost work shop oil? (How would they compare to XLD Premium or Durablend)

I did an oil change from a car that was last serviced from the dealer. The oil had only done about 2000kms in 5 months and it came out like water. It was even beading from the oil pan that it was dropped in to when I was poring it back in to an empty container. Lilke whater does when you spil it. I have never seen oil do that before.

It was so thin it just about would not stick to your fingers.
They used the 15w 40 version.

If this is an indication of Valvoline (Australia) oils then I might start to stay away from it.

back in the day (1960s) this would be the result of a bad mechanical fuel pump...the oil would be thinned by gasoline and it was so thin you could use it to wash parts...
