Went to Walmart today, they had QS Advanced Durability 10W30, priced at $3.37 per quart. Pennzoil conventional was $3.47. So the AAP deal really is a very good price on QS. I went on up to the local AAP and struck out-they didn't have any QS Advanced Durability 10W30 in stock. I'll stop by another AAP later today or tomorrow and pick up 2 or 3 of the QS/Purolator filter deals. Then I will stop by the AAP on my way home from work Monday and get 2 or 3 more.
This really is a great price on a name brand premium oil with a solid add pack and a good USA-made filter to use with it. I am hedging my bets that Napa won't have a comparable oil or filter deal next month. I think they would have done one this month to compete with AAP and AZ if they were going to offer any kind of oil and/or filter sale.
I also checked the date codes on the QS at AAP and Walmart today. They were all from April and May 2010. Maybe the date doesn't really matter, but I think it's odd that BJ's is the only store selling oil that is over a year old.
