I have done countless hard 5k runs on Valvoline synthetic. Take it to 5k, save your money.Thank you! I will only be run 2,500-3,000 miles. I don’t ever do extended oil runs.

Why not? Seems like a better oil. If you require SP, can always go with ESP 5w-30.Since we don’t know what vehicle OP has; I’d darn sure not recommend M1 ESP. Don’t care what #18FAN babbles bout.

You were gonna run Mobil EP for 2500-3000 miles…? That’s like using an rpg to kill a flyThank you! I will only be run 2,500-3,000 miles. I don’t ever do extended oil runs.
Or is it more like having an eighteen year old girlfriend your whole life? You were gonna run Mobil EP for 2500-3000 miles…? That’s like using an rpg to kill a fly
Meets SP Engine Test Requirements, but must have some level of something to not be fully SP compatible or it would say simply API SP. 0w-30 is only SL.M1 ESP 0w30 meets SP Requirements.
Exactly. Some folks here think they know it all.Meets SP Engine Test Requirements, but must have some level of something to not be fully SP compatible or it would say simply API SP. 0w-30 is only SL.
The oil went in my 1997 Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 with 71,000 miles on itSince we don’t know what vehicle OP has; I’d darn sure not recommend M1 ESP. Don’t care what #18FAN babbles bout.
Thank Yku for that info sirThe oil went in my 1997 Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 with 71,000 miles on it
The M1 ESP 0W30 will serve you well. The oil went in my 1997 Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 with 71,000 miles on it
For 3-5K, the Supertech on the shelf would have been just fine for that vehicle. The oil went in my 1997 Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 with 71,000 miles on it
This is what our push mower gets. Good oil, decent price. I cannot, however, bring myself to use it in our cars. SuperTech had a stigma attached to it when it first came out in the late 90s (even if it was just general wariness from it being a Walmart brand, and only in my head, idk)...I just can't get past it. Haha. For 3-5K, the Supertech on the shelf would have been just fine for that vehicle.
I've always been a name brand oil/filter guy, probably always will be, as far as cars are concerned anyway. The slightly higher price is peace of mind to me, if nothing else. I also have issues going over 3k-4k miles on an oil change. That's what was 'safe' with the regular dino oils that were available when my dad was teaching me all about cars and how to repair/maintain them, and I'm not sure I'll ever get past that hang-up either.
The Mobil-1 of the 70s aligns itself today, in quality terms with Mobil-1 EP.
My normal poison is Mobil1 FSHM 5w30 with a Fram Ultra filter. Just changed hers a week ago, went with PP FSHM 5w30 because M1 was $40ish at Amazon and I didn't want to mess with going to town for a Walmart run just for a jug of oil.I would just buy regular Mobil 1 Advanced Synthetic when they have their rebate each year as it's more than sufficient for yearly - 5,000 mi changes (or 8 mo - 3,000 mi) and with the rebate will be cheaper than anything else.
Mobil 1 was doing 10,000 mi changes in the 70s, but it was cost prohibitive at the time.
My Grandfather managed to go from 1,000 mi oci on his first car to 5,000 mi on his last. I guess that's why they called them the greatest generation. With all they lived through they had to learn to adapt or die.
Here is what it meets - why would they want to meet what Kirkland meet?Meets SP Engine Test Requirements, but must have some level of something to not be fully SP compatible or it would say simply API SP. 0w-30 is only SL.
