That seems like a waste. I'm running dino for 5,000 miles. What benefits do you get from running synthetic with your OCI?
Waste of what? I get, marginally, better mpg,so the synthetic pays for itself. I get the usual benefits of syn over conv.
Time and money. Since you live in Texas, I'm assuming extreme cold isn't a problem. Unless you're driving a turbo, or other engine that abuses oil, it seems like a waste to change synthetic that soon. I'd run M1 easily for a year or 10,000 miles in my cars. I would need more than "marginally better" to offset the cost of the synthetic without extending the drain interval.
