Mobil 1 Extended Performance and 20K oci

Waste of what? I get,marginally,better mpg,so the synthetic pays for itself. I get the usual benefits of syn over conv.

Time and money. Since you live in Texas, I'm assuming extreme cold isn't a problem. Unless you're driving a turbo, or other engine that abuses oil, it seems like a waste to change synthetic that soon. I'd run M1 easily for a year or 10,000 miles in my cars. I would need more than "marginally better" to offset the cost of the synthetic without extending the drain interval.

Running Mobil 1 Extended Performance in both of my current cars but only to 10k miles. Thats as far as I feel comfortable running it. Like stated before oil is cheap, a replacement engine is not.

No waste of time or money. Get my state inspection on 1 trip to the dealer. Anything else on my second annual trip to the dealer. Extreme heat is a problem. 2/3% increase in mpg pays for the synthetic.
