In 2003 sitting in front of a restaurant I saw a Ford Ranger with exempt plates, badged as a V-10 Police Interceptor. was I hallucinating? Or does this exist? It had a light bar, no stars, or fire dept. markings.... this was in Guymon, Oklahoma.

Someone stuck some badges on it, that's all. Ford never sold any Rangers with more than a 4.0 V6.

It takes serious modification just to fit a 5.4L V8. SVT built one 5.4 Ranger and they had to move the firewall back to make enough room.

The 5.0 on the other hand pretty much drops right in.

Thanks..I searched for years.,.(not religiously). Could not find it. I figured if it did exist, it would highly desirable.

Likely an updo. Mexican? They like to add badges of irrelevant form to their trucks.

But swaps maybe possible... I know of an LS1 in an S10 ZR2 like mine.

So I wonder if the ford 4.0L mounting design in the ranger has the same mount points as the new modular family from where the 6.8L V10 comes?

I had a 5.0 badge on the side of "my" Chevette in high school. From the back, it also appeared to be "Turbo Intercooled".

Wonder what the weight distribution on that would be...80/20?
lol.gif

...and I thought the old C1500 454 SS was hard to hook up off the line. A V10 Ranger? That would be a tire crucifier

Tire crucifier you say??

Without looking for sure I suppose maybe it's possible that someone at the police department had some fun, and did some serious modification to a ranger, and donated it to the department. That would make one heck of an interceptor lol.

That's enough torque to spin the truck on it's top.......

Yeah I wonder if it is a 4 or 6... that 3.9L 4cyl (or whatever it is) could have a lot of good places for use...

Im not a fan of burnouts, just creates a lot of stink and pollution. But I guess torque needed to be proven...

THAT IS CRAZY! Instantaneous smoke. I do know an old man, ex-engineer, who put a 1975 straight 6 in an 85 Ranger, and a 5.4 out of 2004 Lincoln MK into a 1980 Futura....
