Using coupons indefinitely

I used to see a coupon in a 7 pack of Taster’s Choice instant coffee sticks for a free item up to $1. That happened to be the price at one store, where I must have gone through it five or six times until I encountered a package without a coupon. And later on there were free coupons.

But I just went to a McDonald‘a where there’s a free deal for an ice cream cone by dojng an anonymous survey. When I used it, the receipt for the free item has the survey all over again for the free item. Seems a bit weird, and I’m not sure how long this could keep up.

My wife was into the super-couponing a few years ago. It really is surprising how much stuff you can get for "free", but you have to put a lot of time into it. The dollars and cents do not work out unless you are doing so for pure enjoyment.

The ones I'm referring to didn't require any research. The coffee coupon would just happen to be in the box. And it was really remarkable that they kept on having more of them, although there was no guarantee. I might have also seen at least one where there were two coupons. The place I found them for $1 was at CVS Pharmacy where it was part of there $1 items shelf.

When the receipt printer coupons first appeared at my supermarket, I bought some pork chops and got a coupon for $1 off pork. So I left my groceries in my car, went out back, found a pork that was $1.02 and bought that with the coupon. Got another coupon. This loop continued a few times then I was late for work and had to split.

And for the curious, no, you don't get cash back if the pork is under a buck.

Prior to TSC acquiring Orscheln farms, they’d always have a survey you could fill out for $5 off $25. I did it every time. lol

Arby's did this for a while. Get a combo meal and fill out a survey for a free roast beef sandwich. The odd thing is that sometimes the free sandwich receipt would have a survey for a free sandwich. I must not have been the only person who caught on as it didn't last too long.

I have never seen a "free" cone in McD but I have seen a lot of bogo.

Most bogo is just an illusion to make you buy more instead of 50% off.

It depends on the location. I was at the same location where I picked up a mobile order, and the survey bonus was a BOGO sandwich. I’ve even seen some where it’s BOGO for any breakfast item. But when I cashed in the BOGO coupon on the receipt for the survey, the new receipt also had that. Don’t know if it’s random or whatnot.

Yep. Over the weekend, I was in a Micro Center (computer store chain) because they emailed me a coupon for a free 128 G memory stick. I got the stick for free, but I bought a motherboard while I was in there.
Many years ago, there was a local grocery chain that advertised Chase & Sanburn coffee for $.95 with any additional purchase. Every day going to work I'd buy a pack of gum and get the can of coffee for $.95. I donated the coffee to my sister because they had a policy at her work where people had to take turns buying coffee. So I gave all the coffee to her. At that time, this brand was so good that she actually caught other employees stealing the coffee to take home.

Our 17 year old is good at finding free or really cheap stuff. He's playing McD's monoply right now and getting alot of free food, I had to tell him it's not good to eat McD's that often so limit to once a week. He's always finding deals for pennies on the dollar. Unfortunately it's our money he's spending.
