It's correct I have not bought the car, and am going to keep looking.

But I do appreciate all of the insight on rust reformation, since my other current vehicles will still need some of that love. I get them fluid filmed every year, but always good to have some other thoughts on options.

Once you go to the oil, you’re committed because nothing other than oil will stick. Look for an oil type coating thicker than fluid film if you’re looking for a change. If you’re starting from scratch and it’s a fairly new vehicle, minimal rust, go with wax. Less maintenance. Less touchups. Less mess.
