Two days ago, I finally received the Fram AirHog I ordered from RockAuto.
Last night, I installed the new filter. There was a light coating of oil on the "dirty" side of the filter, and the rubber gaskets seem to be fairly thick and of decent quality. There were a few misaligned pleats, but I wasn't too concerned about it.
The air filter it replaced, a STP (I think) with 25k miles and 30 months, was completely gray on the "dirty" side. Previously, with the STP filter, I would be able to fit the airbox cover over the filter and engage the clips with one finger. Now, with the AirHog, it takes considerable effort to engage the clips. I guess this new filter seals a lot better.
