CARQUEST R85358MP - India
  • Nitrile ADBV and O-Ring style sealing gasket
  • 44 pleats w/ metal crimp
  • Metal core with holes
  • Bypass valve with rubber plunger
  • Coil Spring

**Best fitting and thickest ADBV.
**Rubber plunger type bypass.
**Basic cellulose media tears easily, where adhered to the end caps.
**2nd thickest can.

PREMIUM GUARD PG4612 - China

  • Nitrile ADBV and Gasket
  • 49 pleats w/ metal crimp
  • Spiral metal core with holes
  • Bypass valve metal plunger
  • Coil spring

**Thickest can.
**Largest core, 2nd strongest where pleats are adhered to end caps, still a basic cellulose media.
**Thinnest ADBV.
**Smallest bypass valve size of a pencil eraser and metal on metal.

ECOGARD x4612 - China

  • Nitrile ADBV and Gasket
  • 55 pleats w/ metal crimp
  • Spiral core with holes
  • Bypass valve plastic plunger
  • Coil Spring
**Smallest core.
**Okay tear strength where the media is adhered to end caps, again basic cellulose media.
**Can is decent still fairly thick.
**ADBV sort of on the thin side.

FRAM COR6607 - USA

  • Nitrile ADBV and gasket
  • 53 pleats w/ glued seam
  • E-Core w/ metal end caps
  • Bypass valve pop-it style w/ integral leaf spring
**USA made
**ADBV has a skirt that fits into the core
**Most inlet holes on mounting plate
**thinnest can construction
**Strongest adhesion media to end caps "least likely to tear from end caps", media may be glass impregnated or some sort of blend.

You be the judge all filters are clean construction and well built with metal end caps. Even with the thinnest can I am leaning towards the FRAM.

It would be interesting to do a flashlight test on the ecore with metal end caps.

Thanks for sharing.

I am surprised the Premium Guard and Eco Gard were so different. I think many here including me would thought them to be the same or very similar.

What's your final determination - which of these are "best"?

Leaning towards the FRAM..

I would like the O-ring style gasket of the CAR QUEST

There is an EG+ PH6607 for $4.48 on Amazon with a silicone adbv. Don’t know what the + stands for on the box, may be an old picture.

EG’s went silicone for a time I believe they’re back to nitrile. The ones I recently checked at stores were black nitrile adbv’s.
