Interesting,no one has an analysis of this oil??

It's a good oil. Not a super long drain oil but a very good 0w30 that can handle extreme temps very well.

It meets GM 4718M, which tells me it's a very good oil and it has a HT/HS of only 2.9 which means it will give you good mpg and hp. I may use this in the Honda going forward.

Thanks buster.I`m using it now in my RX,and it has never run better. (seems more free) of course I just had GC in it,and we all know thats a heavier weight oil.

Im thinking about trying this out in my 4Runner, but its hard to argue with the Mobil 1 5w30 in my engine series (2UZ-FE).

That's an interesting way of thinking of it. Some of us go for a very high HTHS oil like Redline for wear protection while others purposely search for a low HTHS.

I use Mobil 1 0w30 in my 2.0ltr Honda Civic si with 14,5xx miles on it. gas mileage hasn't gone down from new car to summer in AZ so that means it's doing its job(28mpg combined currently). I'm sure I will get 31-33mpg in the fall/winter easy if I use my 225 tires instead of 245s.

I will have a used oil analysis soon on it with 4,500 miles, a Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter and new K&N drop in Air filter. soon as in, whenever I get it shipped off and back from Blackstone.

For HPDE track days I will use 3 quart 0-30 and 2 quart 40weight.

Walmart caries the 0-30 for cheap.

Cool,thanx daman!

yep,,haven't done any used oil analysis because i know the oil works and i'll take the $30 used oil analysis fee and buy more M1.

for me anyway...

Yeah I mean everyone gets hung up on HT/HS for no reason at all. They assume higher the better and it's just not the case.

With Mobil 1 0w30 you get the viscosity of a 30 grade, but with a lower HT/HS you gain a bit of power and efficiency. This is why Mobil 1 0w30 is designed like this. And the fact that both Mobil 1 0w20 and 0w30 meet GM 4718M tells me it's a solid oil. Everything else is just opinion.

So there really is no downside to low HTHS? Is it really ALL benefit? How about an oil with an HTHS of 1, is that even better? I wonder why anyone would care about HTHS then. HMMM

Exactly why I showed how to use the google search for BITOG, because the search here sucks.

You're waaaay off. No reason? Why even have an HTHS rating? There is plenty of information showing a very close relationship between HTHS and wear. In fact, it's the single most important spec IMO regarding wear.

Of course there is a relationship between HT/HS and wear but it depends on the engine type and among other things.

2.6 is the lowest HT/HS currently allowed. You "may" trade-off "some" wear protection but in modern engines oils can have a HT/HS as low as 2.6 w/o issues. So how am I "waaaaay off"?
