It went down but yeah I mean can't stay at 45 MPG the whole day. I think it's going to get stable around 38 MPG. I'm not feeling any difference. The stop/start is doing its thing, I'm coasting all right, my van is loving this Ultra.

The best test for rating an oil (in my view) is run it for 200K, change it every 10K, and then evaluate the results. That's worked for me in all of my engines the last 47 years.

I take it that your tests have shown that M1 EP is the best?
 
Last night when at a local Walmart I checked for P.U.P. and they have the 0w-20 , 5w-20 and 5w-30 . Will likely buy it there at under $30 for the 5 quart jug . Forgot to look for the new S.Q , GF-7 rating . Hopefully I'll remember next time .
 
Yes , used that for 2 5 quart jugs and waiting on the $30 . Can't go wrong at around $3 a quart for good quality oil . Using the 2 jugs of P.U.P. 0w-20 for both new '25 KIA Souls' . Thanks just the same . (y)
Yes I wasn't planning on buying PUP in the near future, but couldn't pass this up, especially because it's not always in stock in the store. Easy buy. I'll use it at some point.
 
Not all DI engines are like this, the LT1 in my Corvette doesn’t put any fuel into the oil at all.
Very good point. I think to be fair your engine is an outlier as most of todays DI engines are high string turboed 4 bangers so the blow by is a bit bigger issue. Some are just outright awful with keeping fuel on the correct side of the piston rings (looking at you honda 1.5)

At 200k miles you probably cannot get the same oil you start wirh?

I’m definitely glad that I have the port injected 2.0 in my Civic instead of the 1.5T! That’s probably one of the worst fuel diluters out there 😳
 
My MPG is doing pretty good after 120 miles. I will do the exact calculation after I run through this tank. The gas mileage difference between 0w16 and 0w20 looks pretty negligible.
