I'm servicing a John Deere STX38 for a friend's mom. It has a Kohler Command 12.5hp single cylinder engine. I removed this filter from the engine, and I'm not sure what brand it is. I assume it is an aftermarket brand of some kind, since it didn't look like the Kohler filter that replaced it. The filter had a date scratched into it of 4/2012 from the last person who changed it.

Here are some pics:

This might be the brand? This was the only label I found on it...

Had a coil spring, and the ADBV was a little stiff. The filter almost looks like a Wix.

It does resemble a Wix in many ways but I don't think it is one... I've seen that single oversize inlet hole before but I don't remember on what kind of filter. Looks great anyway.

As always, thanks for cutting and posting!

Any COO on it? I'm going with Woodys, made in China or made in India special. It does look quite similar to the Kohler OEM made in India, I pulled of a Courage engine and dissected.

Looks similar to DriveWorks and other made in China oil filters, including the slotted center tube. Construction looks decent though.

I didn't see a COO sticker on it anywhere. It may have fallen off at some point.
