Anything wrong with this oil? My mower sure seems to like it.

Of course there's nothing wrong with it. Your mower never had it so good. Its datasheet is identical to that of 66 TropArtic Syn Blend except for the brand names.

I'm seriously thinking about putting my car on this for the next OCI.

And that's gotta be the most beautiful bottle I've ever seen.

It is the 76 version of Trop-Arctic.
Good stuff. I'd be all over it if I had ready access to it.

I am finishing up a case of this oil, and I've seen no differences between this and the other Phillips 66 brands that I've used for seven years. My local distributor carries this, but does not carry Conoco, Kendall or TropArtic. Now that Autozone has cleared out its Kendall oils, Kendall is getting harder to find, at least here in NC and VA.

I paid $2.37 a quart for 76 Super from a distributor in Chesapeake, VA.

It's probably the same stuff as the Kendall syn blend.

Check out the PDS's:

Scary how close they are. Everything is essentially the same, except that the Union 76 sheet doesn't list a Titanium content. Is that because it doesn't have any, or because COP is trying to differentiate between Kendall and Union 76?

Does it meet the Ford and Chrysler specs like Trop Artic?

I wonder how similar this (and trop artic) is to MC blend.

** Sorry if there are 3 similar posts. The internet connection is acting up.

I've not used 76 but have run plenty of the Trop Artic clone with excellent results. I've got Trop Artic in 3 of our cars right now in fact.

There are some impressive Trop Artic UOA's on here.

Supposedly Motorcraft has a little more syn blend and more moly in it than 76/Trop Artic.

That's good oil. I found a case on sale a while back and ran it in my 99 Caravan which is speced for 10w30 and it ran just fine!

Because Kendall is a white tiger around here. 76 can be found at nearly every 99 cent only store in this area.

Locally we had a Union 76 station about 20 years ago. I remember going there with my dad on the tractor to get diesel fuel and doughnuts. The station was bought out by Citgo and that was the last time I had ever seen one around.

I know of a few Phillips stations, but not very vendors that "locally" sell Trop Artic or any other Conoco Phillips products besides Orsheln Farm, AZ and WM.

O'Reillys is now listing Trop Artic on their site but I've not actually seen it in stock and they want nearly 5 bucks a quart for it!

True. I had forgotten about them. I assume they'd have to order it for you and yeah at nearly $5 a quart, I think ill pass. Lol.

I don't know if they'd do a price match on something they need to order for you or not. Worth asking I guess. The closest Orsheln is about 25 miles in a direction I hardly ever go.

ConocoPhillips decides how and where to market each of their brands--Conoco, Phillips, 76, Kendall. The Kendall line has the top products, and the other lines have some of the same products as found under the Kendall labels as well as some lower grade products. The local 76 stations have Kendall bottles on the shelves. I'd happily use any of the top line products with any of the four labels.
