I noticed a lot of accounts that have usernames that begin with the 3 letters UNC followed by a 3 digit number. Some of these were pretty active accounts that seem to have had their name changed. I am just curious and could not find anything about it in a search, can anyone share what the UNC001, UNC002, UNC003 usernames indicate?

There were usernames like "Coke" or "Pepsi" that legal counsel advised us to remove. We communicated with every member that they could choose another username. The "UNC" usernames you see haven't been changed by the member.

I thought it was a new brand of cage fightingUNC = User Now Criminal ... followed by inmate number.

UNCxxx .... User Name Change, and then a sequential number in the order of processing.
We are in the process of purging usernames which are Copyright/Trademark violations and concerns. Users are given a "new" username (UNCxxx) when the old one is purged. They can choose another one, pending review and approval of a new username.
I think most folks would be shocked to realize how many usernames are actually a violation because of Trademarks. It's utterly staggering. BITOG does not have any desire to enter into legal action, and so we take a very, very conservative approach to this. If it even has a hint of being a problem, the username is changed. It's a reflection of the litigious world we live in. It's a matter of survival for BITOG.
