I don’t have any doubt that we’re not alone. To me, the only question is whether these civilizations have achieved the capability to reach us. The distances are just so vast.

It's estimated that there are 2 trillion galaxies in the known universe in a 93 billion light year diameter. Each galaxy has about 100-400 billion stars. However a few other things to keep in mind, about 80% of the stars in the galaxy are red dwarfs and one of the things red dwarfs do all the time is have massive flares which pretty much wipe out all life. The speed of light also seems to be the limiting factor. There may be life on other planets, but it's an entirely different thing for it to get here.
or have survived. it's not logical to assume they are at the same place in evolution, give or take a 1000 years... they could have flourished and perished millions of yearsa ago when earth was still ruled by dinosaurs. So besides distance, time is not on our side either
I guess camera artifacts could explain some of this but radar doesn't have an optical aperture and flir doesn't explain the speed of the recorded artifacts. I think our govt. has needed 70 years of time to allow our primitive technology to reverse engineer the advanced technology of the Roswell crash. Of course most UFO true believer's are mainly in it for the anal probes.
The basis of UFOs are that they are unidentified. There's the old Ben Franklin saying, three can keep a secret if two are dead. I'm also not sure the speeds were actually recorded or just extrapolated. The rest of your comments are pure speculation. You can believe whatever you like, but with no data, it doesn't make it true.

And that’s my problem with those who say that the government or military has evidence that alien civilizations exist, or even possesses artifacts.

Id like to believe we’ve been visited, and, especially, that we’re in possession of some fantastically advanced extraterrestrial technology.
However, I also know human nature. And I challenge anyone to explain to me how the most incredible and significant news in human history could be kept quiet.
I'm thinking very little factual/accurate information will be disclosed concerning the UFO phenomena by the various government agencies. Government agencies historically don't like the common subjects to know too much. It's all still swamp gas and weather balloons. A carrot being dangled at best. Government agencies ranging from law enforcement to internal revenue service, and every agency in between don't like to admit they have withheld info from , lied to, or deceived the public for however long, (in the UFO situation, potentially many years).

Corporations and governments have Non-disclosure agreements. How about a technologically superior race by millions or billions of years, tells us to keep their present quiet? Perhaps; the govt doesn't have a choice? What if, Earth is a zoo (petri dish) planet and various higher forms of life enjoy watching carbon based life forms. Earth is a beautiful egg wandering through space! I doubt we will know the truth. At least it keeps us thinking! I have a vivid imagination.

I had an encounter late one summer night about 45 years ago while on watch at a remote Coast Guard station in the northern Great Lakes. We had been alerted by another station east of us about objects moving rapidly westward, advised to scan the sky and report to the group commander in Milwaukee if we spotted anything. I'll skip the details but a group of six amorphic bright lights coalesced high around our 90' radio tower and hovered there for about twenty minutes. It was witnessed by myself and another crew member from different vantage points. They glowed yellow/green and made no noise. They departed to the west at high speed and disappeared. Our chief got a call in the morning and was directed to shred all printed message traffic regarding the matter (no computers back then).

Likely a bunch of disinformation at best. Government agencies of any kind hate to admit deceit and coverup concerning anything.

The facts of the matter is that they're unidentified. It's a pretty big jump from there to conspiracies and space aliens. It's called jumping to conclusions. Everybody always wants the answers, but there's always mysteries out there. Dark matter, dark energy, grand unified theory, gravity, etc.
Objects have been visiting nuke installations since the 50's Robert Hasting has done great research on this.
Louis Elizondo came onto the scene in 2017 and was part of the AATIP disclosure (we were lied to about) , but doenst really say anything....oh he talks, but nothing of any real value comes out. He claims to have seen exotic material. Im skeptical of him.
He's positioning the report as not having enough time to be prepared properly - As if 70 years wasnt enough time to let us know whats going on.
Obama coming out a few weeks ago is an interesting event he also leaked that there are things he cant say.
Sure unidentified is just that, unidentified....but when objects defy known physics (instant accel-decel/direction change/ transmedium travel/ supersonic hypersonic with no boom) the odds they weren't built here goes up.

Let's just say that they APPEAR to defy. Lots of those who debunk these things point to instrumentation error. We're not even sure what they are, hence unidentified. The facts are that no one has actually found a piece of these items to actually analyze contrary to what some people think. Remember, it's a vast conspiracy that can't keep secrets but is pretty good at keeping secrets. Can't be both. Which is the real problem with conspiracies.
Think what would happen to society the world over, if it were suddenly revealed that Extraterrestrials are indeed, here.
