Turntable Static/dust/fuzz control

My turntable seems to carry a static charge (+?) that really attracts all sorts of light particles (-?)

The cartridge plastic itself is a real magnet for stuff, but always something in there. I do use the plastic cover just to keep the daily falling debris out. I can clean a record and it plays just fine, but shut it all down, come back the next day and fuzz cling is back.

Is there any kind of help/solution?

Some of the record cleaners purport to get rid of static electricity. I can’t tell you which ones. Is your house really dry?

When I had turntables, they always had lots of dust. I don’t know if mine were as bad as you describe but dusty just the same. I use to just keep them clean on a regular basis.

In the winter medium dry, let me check.........46% at the turntable

I usually let it run through the record through a spin before dropping the needle each time. Doesn't take up a ton of time.

Ai says to use a cork, rubber, or cork/rubber blend for the turntable mat.

Is the turntable metal? I presume it would be grounded, if not, I don't see how it can be grounded without serious modification.

I tried a cork mat. Worse. Now I have a heavy composite mat. Improved a bit.

Metal and plastic everywhere. It’s grounded electrically and sonically fine

They seem to, but unfortunately they are expensive all things considered. You can see lint/dust fall off once fired at it.

It’s definitely an f around and get pregnant sport with the price of a horse hobby and crack addiction. Lovely

But despite the weaknesses and technical limitations supposedly, the sound richness is unmatched

Decades back, I can't remember the brand I used. It came with a cleaner pad, and a solution you used a few drops of on the pad. It worked decent.

That’s what I have. There’s a liquid you put on it.

I have something very similiar with my Disc Washer kit which I had since the 70's. It does the trick.
