TSLA @ $806. Elon is #1

Tesla is an example of what unlimited time horizons coupled with "feel good" investing look like. I'm mildly impressed because no company in the world has enjoyed the long leash given to Tesla. It is infinite.

Must be free money. Free as in free energy.

From 555B to 820B in market capitalization within ten weeks or so since your Elon #2 thread. More "wealth" added than has ever been seen in that whole Toyota. What will 2021 bring – four more Toyotas from TSLA?
Now, if only those Norwegians weren't that reluctant to set a good example in their being so far ahead :) EV-wealth means nothing without the right label.

Next week I will be placing an order for a new Jaguar F Type R Coupe. It will be funded with the gains accrued over the last year from my TSLA holdings. If TSLA had not grown in value so astronomically during that period, there is no way that I would ever do something as dumb as spending as much as my first house cost out of my retirement funds on something as frivolous as a second vehicle and one that has a high depreciation value.

But I can do so with little to no risk of my future financial well being. As Mr. Keryk says, "free money". Well, not entirely free as there are income tax and capital gains taxes to be dealt with. But at age 65, I may as well have some fun before my mental acuity depreciates to the level of a certain President elect.

I am considering a personalized license plate that reads THNXELON

By the way, TSLA briefly hit $875 this morning.

A Model 3 Performance would be a much more fun car, although not quite a frivolous.
I suggest driving one...

Oh yeah, maybe wait until it hits $900, possibly today?
Regarding taxes, paying a lotta income tax is a great problem to have. No sniveling...

Not that many. I was gonna buy years ago, but my conservative personal finance mind wouldn't allow it.
I bought some this year and more than doubled my money. I have to wait for capital gains to kick in otherwise the tax man taketh away...
I am going to use the gains to help out a friend who is a single father. Property ain't cheap in these parts...

Dave, I don't think it is a good idea to talk too much about out personal worth because it separates us.

How about gifting the shares to the friend? No taxes for you, and he’s presumably in a lower tax bracket to pay the gains on the shares. Whatever you do, that’s a very nice gesture.

Already did that...
Plus you can only gift $15K per year without incurring gift tax burden.
Don't ask me how I know...

I figured you were married and could gift $30K between you and a spouse. Which $30K doesn’t go far in California either!

I'm not really married.
I asked Sue to marry me 30 years ago; I figure she is waiting for something better...
She is, by far, the best thing that ever happened to me.

In 2018, analyst Cathie Wood made a insane call for Tesla to hit $4,000 in 5 years.
Pretty crazy bold due to the production problems and being nearly bankrupt in 2017 and well into 2018. Bleeding money...
Of course she was wrong by more than 2 years. Split adjusted, TSLA is $4,300 today.

What a dummy.

Got to love the narratives, NIO also had such a hard time in its 20/21 narrative and now they're just one day from NIO day or so...
Please do one thing: Inform one another the very moment you're going to finally sell or even short_TSLA or how you're saying. That could mean a cool ranking built up. The last shall be first.

I'm a fan of complicated minds and eccentric people.

Einstein couldn’t match a pair of socks and his teachers thought he was dumb...

For how long? 6 whole hours?

You would enjoy Bertlmann's Socks.

Basically Bertlmann wears different mismatched socks every day. As soon as you see the color of one sock on one leg as he enters the doorway, you instantly know the color of the other sock isn't that color. That's how quantum entanglement works, you measure the spin of an electron and no matter where the other entangled electron is, even if a million light years away, you instantly know the spin of the other.
