A Model 3 Performance would be a much more fun car, although not quite a frivolous.Next week I will be placing an order for a new Jaguar F Type R Coupe. It will be funded with the gains accrued over the last year from my TSLA holdings. If TSLA had not grown in value so astronomically during that period, there is no way that I would ever do something as dumb as spending as much as my first house cost out of my retirement funds on something as frivolous as a second vehicle and one that has a high depreciation value.
But I can do so with little to no risk of my future financial well being. As Mr. Keryk says, "free money". Well, not entirely free as there are income tax and capital gains taxes to be dealt with. But at age 65, I may as well have some fun before my mental acuity depreciates to the level of a certain President elect.
I am considering a personalized license plate that reads THNXELON
Not that many. I was gonna buy years ago, but my conservative personal finance mind wouldn't allow it.
I bought some this year and more than doubled my money. I have to wait for capital gains to kick in otherwise the tax man taketh away...
I am going to use the gains to help out a friend who is a single father. Property ain't cheap in these parts...
Dave, I don't think it is a good idea to talk too much about out personal worth because it separates us.
Already did that...How about gifting the shares to the friend? No taxes for you, and he’s presumably in a lower tax bracket to pay the gains on the shares. Whatever you do, that’s a very nice gesture.
I figured you were married and could gift $30K between you and a spouse. Which $30K doesn’t go far in California either!Already did that...
Plus you can only gift $15K per year without incurring gift tax burden.
Don't ask me how I know...
I'm not really married.I figured you were married and could gift $30K between you and a spouse. Which $30K doesn’t go far in California either!
In 2018, analyst Cathie Wood made a insane call for Tesla to hit $4,000 in 5 years.
Pretty crazy bold due to the production problems and being nearly bankrupt in 2017 and well into 2018. Bleeding money...
Of course she was wrong by more than 2 years. Split adjusted, TSLA is $4,300 today.
What a dummy.
You would enjoy Bertlmann's Socks.I'm a fan of complicated minds and eccentric people.
Einstein couldn’t match a pair of socks and his teachers thought he was dumb...
Any time TSLA is over about $810, it is over $4,000 split adjusted. For how long? 6 whole hours?
Any time TSLA is over about $810, it is over $4,000 split adjusted.
It closed at $880 today.
I hope this helps.
