Trip to Albuquerque

This was our first trip there. Very pretty place. We went to the nuclear museum. That was fascinating! All the history there. The main reason we went was the balloon festival. Crazy traffic getting in. Amazing balloons! The balloon ride was the best. The pilot did a splash and dash on the Rio Grande.d We did a day trip to Santa Fe and drove up Ski Basin, beautiful. The Sky Tram trip was amazing! We went in the evening. It was rather chilly up there. We dressed for it. There were people in shorts and flip flops up there. You could tell they were COLD!! The local food is spicy, took some getting used too, but good. It was a whirl wind trip, not enough time to do what we wanted. I apologize for the sideways pix. Not the greatest pic editor.

New Mexico is a beautiful state. The landscape, people, food and sites are great. Glad you had a nice trip!

While you were in Santa Fe, you should have visited the "Hill" to see where the world was changed forever. Los Alamos is now an incorporated city, but in 1945 it was the most secure location in the country. And even then, Soviet espionage agents were at work inside the labs and passing along atomic secrets to their handlers. Santa Fe was full of spies and many a discovery about making a nuclear weapon was passed along in the Plaza Cafe on the west side of the plaza. New Mexico was a wonderful place to grow up.

Really?! We had 2 days to fit what we had planned. We are planning to go back soon!!! On non Balloon Festival week.
