They didn't test it against any of the good stuff though, just all the other garbage you typically find at places like Wal-Mart...put it up against products like Duragloss, Zaino, Collinite, or Klasse and it wouldn't do so well...

Actually it would do quite well.

You're joking, right?

See above...

At durability, no doubt, at gloss, depth and shine, not so much, unless the consumer reporters are blind

LOL.

It wouldn't even do well in durability...

[censored]. NuFinish has proven for a long period of time that it is a top performer in durability. We know you hate it and love to trash it and it gets old. So why don't you save your [censored] and let people post their own findings with out telling everyone that they are wrong and NuFinish is garbage and can't possibily last more then a few weeks....sheesh, you sound like a broken record! You stil have not posted a single picture of a car you waxed.....what is the matter? Don't have any that look as good? Yeah....That is what I thought!

It's obvious NF is a good performer WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER FOUND-IN-THE-STORE BRANDS, but compared to the good stuff it just doesn't cut the mustard...sorry if that upsets you, but it is a fact...and like I've said before, posting pics isn't going to show why the good stuff is better...any wax can look good in pics, but pics aren't going to show you that the good stuff lasts longer...you have to experience that yourself, which I have done...

I never realized this product engendered such violent love and hatred.

It's just a modestly priced car polish, for goodness sakes.

No way, It's a modestly priced car polish that works wonders, one coat lasts all year, and it make an ugly scratched up car brand spanking new again.
grin.gif

All other car care manufacturers are wasting their time, NuFinish has won. Ever been to the Pebble Beach Concours car show, nothing but NuFinished cars. And people think their cars look good with Zaino and Swissvax, they must be blind.

I'm just kidding of course, this thread is too fun.

Hilarious! I'm sure those same car show guys are using those "as seen on TV" miracle scratch removers too!

The thing is I have used several of the high end waxes(Zaino...tons if it, Duragloss, and Klasse and while I agree that they are a better product for shine and depth, none of them out last NuFinish as far as durability and real world protection. Duragloss does last as long but after 9 months to a year it is hard to tell which is beading water the best. I have never had Zaino come close to 9 months-year on a vehicle weather it was on mine or a customers.
The reason I'm [censored] is I HAVE used all of these on daily drivers and show cars, not just once but many, many times. None of them blow NuFinish out of the water like you claim.

Recently I had a customer whos truck was in an accident and after detailing it for him I asked if I could keep his old tail gate because the paint was still in decent shape. I'm going to section it off and apply several high end waxes and NuFinish. I'll leave it out side in the back exposed to the weather untill all waxes/sealents fail. I'll post pictures durring and after and we shall see which last the longest.
Stay tuned as it will take awhile to complete the test...LOL

Chris B.,

So can we all agree that NF is a modestly priced product that doesn't present as well as the best high-end stuff, but has excellent endurance?

That's always been my take on the stuff (out of the water).

Yup! It is great for durability and protection. It is great for people wanting pure protection and something that lasts on a daily driver that may not have their car garaged. The shine is "good enough" for most folks too but really is not the best for pure shine or depth......although it is not a bad shine at all. See some of the pics above.

I use it in my shop when a customer asks for something long lasting. I also give them the options of Duragloss. I ask them how they use their car, how they wash it ect. I ask if they want the best shine or if they are concerned with protection. Also if they are a person that comes in ofter(every month or 3) or a person I see once a year of longer effects what I reccomend to them.
It all effects what I recommend to them.

MuSuch hate for this product.... I got it it is the color of the bottle... Orange.... the same color of Fram...... But after all this talk I might pick up a bottle and give it a try....

Buy a can of NF paste instead of a bottle - the paste was rated higher than the liquid NF by CR.

Try this.......NuFinish, then add a coat or two of your favorite carnauba wax to add depth of shine. Satisfies both ends of shine and durability. I use NF then add a coat of Mothers Carnauba over it. Looks good for me. H8ters gonna H8 anyway.........

I currently use liquid NF on the white sled. It beads up more than a year and lasts in the Tx sun. I don't find it easy to take off though. It's hard to get any depth on a white car.

I remember many years ago using something from some guy in a Volvo club...what was that stuff...came in an upright can...looked rather old school...been too long ago. It did work well, gave quite a bit of gloss. Eventually I ran out of it. AeroGloss? AeroGlass? AeroShield? Liquid/gloss/glass?

I'll have to post a pic of the sled as I'm fixing to polish/seal again. She needs a good clean. My routine is rather simple: I clean with Zymol car wash and softened water, clay or fine polish using the random orbital on the horizontal surfaces, blow dry with an electric leaf blower, then apply NF. Sometimes two coats.

BTW, early this year, I finally located some Forever Black and did all the trim. Still looks great! I'm impressed. Haven't touched it up. I also used it on a black poly housing for a Sola-Tube skylight that had been baking in the sun for 17 yrs. It was quite gray. It looks brand new now.

I'll give that a whirl...may get a bit more depth on a white car. It should glide on nice & smooth after prep & NF.

It does, and I find the shine is "brighter". The NF has a duller, more "plastic" shine than a carnuba like Mothers. But it does last a lot longer. I find the two together make a great combo

NF topped with Collinite 845 is a very nice combo. I'm a detailer on the side. Many of the "pros" both here and on other sites will knock NF. It isn't the greatest in depth and finish, but it will hold up VERY well, looks decent, and can look even better with a topper. Key is always prep. Some of us get too caught up in price, brand, etc. I prepped my car well last year to experiment with NF. Always wondered what a $7 wax looked like. Not the best I have seen on my car, but not the worst. Topped it with 845 and it looks nice!

I will also add that I have been playing with Griot's all in one sealant. Nice product and from what I have heard, durable.

Dont let all of the NF hate sway you. Use what YOU want and what works for YOU!

I've removed some posts that had nothing but attacking each other. If I get the time I'll try to go through the rest of this thread and remove the other attacks (which I'm sure there are) but lets play nice guys.

Just discuss the product and don't get personal about it. State your opinion and get on with it.

Thanks, Bill

Well, it's taken me awhile to try this out. Below are some pics. I washed the sled with Zymol car wash & soft water, then blew dry. Next hand-applied NuFinish to the hood & top. Removal was very easy..far easier than I remember. But it's been a few years since I've NuFinished. Didn't bother claying this time.

Really cleaned up well after removing the dried product. Paint was smooth too. Applied a layer of Mother's Carnuba over it. This was much tougher to remove. Emphasis on much. As seen below, it does shine up nice, but may not be worth the effort on a white car (which has no depth). It's like waxing a white refrigerator! It hasn't rained in (quite) awhile. The 'old' application was still beading up fine and looked good. I'm happy with it.

Here's the photos:

You can see a few scratches here. After all, the sled is now 14yrs old. Didn't use any polishing compound (Griot's #3) this time.

This looks really nice. . .
