Somehow I always overapply Nufinish making it a pain to remove.

But, those over applications pay me back with years of service and less concern when I can't find time to wash the car.

My cars are garaged so Nufinish does literally last years. On one of my cars, the original application has been on for 6 years. I've been meaning to reapply but I have a nearby touch less car wash with a wax treatment - every time I come out of that car wash it seems to have done a good job. But I may do the application once I am less busy.

After using Zaino for 7 years now, I just can't seem to get it to last as long as Nu Finish did for me back in the day even though I use Zaino's shampoo which is supposed to extend the life of an application. I have to reapply Zaino AIO every 6 months.

Six months of protection is amazing for any sealant or wax and Consumer Reports didn't even reach half that mark with NuFinish. A lot of people out there will tell that one should at minimum detail every six months. Save some money and drop Zaino, since many feel that it is a Duragloss clone at a much higher price. I've tried NuFinish and was very frustrated by my trim bring stained everytine id detail. I've switched to a Duragloss/Collinite combo and have not looked back---lasts longer, nicer shine, and no stained trim.

To be honest, armor all is what I use. I tried back to black by mothers or meguiars and it worked fine but Armor All just goes on easier for me. I used it to restore my 1996 cavalier handles after they had been neglected with Nu Finish for years. If it is bad enough, I have to armor all fairy often like once every couple months.

I use it for the plastic cladding on the escape every 6 months and it is good enough for me and the wife.

I used NuFinish on my last car, worst mistake I made.

Every bit of black rubber and plastic it touched was turned white and no amount cleaning would remove it as it appeared to have penetrated and dyed it.

It did bring it up very shiny, but I am sure most polishes would have as well.

I'll stick with Optimum spray wax. I'd rather spend 15 minutes once a month than spend a couple of hours every three months using something that's difficult to remove and stains rubber/plastic parts. My car is white so it's not like spending the extra time on it would give me a shine that'll allow me to shave in it or anything.

I'd disagree that you can't do anything to make a white car look "better." My Jetta is white and believe me, with proper prep, it looks better than a quick wax job. Not picking on you, just don't sell that white car short!

As far as the people that complain about trim staining. Again, not to be a jerk, but apply in a careful manner and don't blame the product. Bottom line.

NP is not the best, but certainly far from the worst. It DOES last and while it looks glassy, it's not terrible. Try some garbage like TW Ice. Lasts two weeks, tops.

I don't disagree that you can make a white car look better, but I don't believe the difference between OSW and NF would be worth the effort.

My car is also ready for a proper polish with a DA buffer though, so my main concern is simply protection until I can get around to doing that.

I think the point about trim staining is that there are products out there that work as well and don't cost a lot more that don't require careful application. If I have to break out the painter's tape why bother?

Picked up some Nu Finish paste with the Oreilly $5 coupon deal, so it was $3.49 + tax.
I wash my cars like 3-4x a year (the horror!) and wax 1-2. They're old and my time is better spent on other things - like going the places my cars take me on the weekends. I also bike to work 80% of the time, and with no carport or garage, my cars get DIRTY quickly from just sitting undriven. So I want something durable in a wax/sealant. Plus cheap and OTC is great.

I was surprised by the almost 'wet' look I got today. Neglected paint, with lots of little dents and chips, etc. (bought the car last year) just want to keep it protected occasionally.
I'm very pleased. I'd try that 845 stuff, but happy with my cheap OTC results. Also used some Mother's back to black on the side trim and mirrors (another Oreilly deal).

I then proceeded straight to the beach, with a dirt parking area. Went surfing and had a wet, sandy wetsuit to throw in the trunk and sandy feet

So much for the interior detail!

Bought some NF but still have plenty of Slick Mist & Surf City Garage paste wax.
Maybe I'll try the NF soon since I recently bought another vehicle (Diamond Silver color). My 1st light color vehicle.
I'm getting older & tired and it would be nice to use a product that last. I like the twice a year idea.

But then again I also ponder one of the car wash places near me where I see vehicles also get hand wax jobs. Looks like a light yellowish liquid. They get 3, 4, 5, 6 workers on a vehicle. Depends how busy and how many workers I guess. Vacuum, wash, hand dry, wax, glass, door/hatch seals etc. The drivers usually sit there in the shade, drink, snack etc., just seems too easy to sit and watch or read a paper. I get lazy when temps go 90 or higher. So maybe late fall when outside is cool, I'll trial run a coat of NF. But the car wash place is tempting for the time being.

I also like NuFinish. Works great for my vehicles, and lasts a lot better than other waxes/polishes I've tried. Easy on and off, too. I'm sure there are better choices, but for the money it's just fine for me.
