I have noticed, after my most recent tire rotation, that there is kind of a whaawhaa sound coming from my front tires. More noticeable at certain speeds but very noticeable on the highway. Additionally, I am getting some slight vibration at certain speeds. Is this indicative of a tread separation? Or something else?
After last winter, the road I take home from work (for those of you in Chicago, 355 south) was in pretty poor shape. In the lane I normally drive in there is a pretty large pothole right in line with the left tire groove or whatever... I probably hit it a dozen times before I remembered it was there and started swerving around it (still there to this day, fwiw... there's nothing like driving along and then remembering the pothole a second before you hit it).
I've spent months blaming vibrations on the road surface, but today I drove my general same route in my mom's Rav4... didn't notice anything like what I've noticed in my car.
Any advice? I figure my next step is to see what Discount Tire (where I bought the tires) will do for me.
