Tread separation?

I have noticed, after my most recent tire rotation, that there is kind of a whaawhaa sound coming from my front tires. More noticeable at certain speeds but very noticeable on the highway. Additionally, I am getting some slight vibration at certain speeds. Is this indicative of a tread separation? Or something else?

After last winter, the road I take home from work (for those of you in Chicago, 355 south) was in pretty poor shape. In the lane I normally drive in there is a pretty large pothole right in line with the left tire groove or whatever... I probably hit it a dozen times before I remembered it was there and started swerving around it (still there to this day, fwiw... there's nothing like driving along and then remembering the pothole a second before you hit it).

I've spent months blaming vibrations on the road surface, but today I drove my general same route in my mom's Rav4... didn't notice anything like what I've noticed in my car.

Any advice? I figure my next step is to see what Discount Tire (where I bought the tires) will do for me.

Discount Tire is pretty good about post sale service.
Go to them first and explain it like you did to us.
Sure sounds like tire wear or damage.

Getting new tires today. Pretty happy with Discount... at least one is being replaced under the tire replacement certificate I bought, and they are prorating the rest. No more Kumho for me... getting TripleTreds this time.
