Trasko first change and observations

I changed my first element. 5K miles Buick PA Ultra 3.8LSC. The oil still looks very light. I am using 10W30 superTech synth. I cut the used filter down the middle with a band saw. I would post a pic but it is pretty boring. The filter is dark brown. About the same darkness through. No particles or anything. The oil seemed to lighten up with the new element. I am following the OLM and will change about 12KMi. Car has 70K miles and the engine is clean. So far I am very happy with the trasko. They have fixed any problems I have had with them quickly. I bought one for my 6Lv12 Jag. I am autorx cleaning so will wait to install. I will do a uoa on oil change for the buick. Anyway thought I would share.

Thanks for sharing. You're one of the few Trasko users on the board. The only shortcoming that I can think of is the lack of portability to another unit if the filter design is different. It is a convenient way to incorporate bypass filtration into a compact space.
