Hey guys thanks for looknig I have a 2003 grand caravan with the 3.3 and decided today to change out the oil. Well I made it all the way to the point of putting in the bolts and it seems like I cross threaded two some how. I removed the pan and then tried putting in the bolt it it does tighten, is it possible i missed the thread up on the bottom part ?? How do I go about fixing this problem

thanks

Those pan bolts have a very low torgue rating like 8 or 12 foot lbs, check with your Dodge garage, but its not very tight. I stripped on one my wifes car and was able to tap it out and put a slightly larger bolt in without removing the pan. Check the torque setting though, they are really low.

I would get a tap with the same threads, and run it in. If the holes are blind (not open), you'll have to get a bottoming tap.

If you can get the bolts to bit into something, you'll probably be okay.

If the pan doesn't have a drain plug, now would have been the time to ad one.
