I'm going to go with "keep it". Worst thing that is going to happen is what, some mechanical issues? If you are committed to spending upwards of $15k then that will buy tons of hubs, trans rebuilds, stepper motors--all of which, or none of which, will fail over the next ten years. And cost vastly less than $15k to repair.
If rust isn't an issue (keeping on top of oil coating?) then I'd rather keep the money. Or spend it on a really nice garage. Well, $15k might not buy a really nice garage but it should get you pretty close.
