Traded in the Avalanche

Those GMT800's are the best! The GMT900's were a letdown. The K2XX was a much better product and the T1xx, well the jury is still out lol
What would you say is better on the k2xx vs the 900?
Our company had one gmt900, a base model with 4.8 and 4L60E. It didn't have any major failures in around 200k miles. The party chief who drove it kept begging for a new truck (because he drives it personally also) and now he's stuck with no air conditioning that isn't getting fixed because it's over $3000. And they just spent $5000 getting a used transmission when the 6L80E blew up.
I still prefer my gmt800 but it definitely doesn't ride as nice as the newer ones (especially the 2021 Canyon I drove 3000kms on a week long trip up north for work) but I didn't help that with an extra set of leafs, a torsion key kit and 33" LT rated duratracs.
I had my 2005 Silverado in for all new tie rods, and idler arm last week and had the privilege of borrowing the non air conditioned 2017 Silverado. Had them check out the air conditioning the day before my truck went in. When he got the pricing I said I think I'll stick with my 2005. He said that is a good idea.

5ft bed
216k total avalanche miles, I put 70k on it myself
Canyon has 25k miles
Gonna use 5 or 10w30, whatever brand Im feeling at the time of the oil change as I like to switch it up sometimes, but gonna stay at 5k OCI
The dealer couldn’t give me more that $1k for the avalanche because of the mileage, cracked windshield, check engine light on, and I had some modifications on it, but he made it up on the price of the Canyon to where I was ok with it.
Only...a thousand... the stealer offered me 2300 for my xl Denali and immediately said i'd keep it as a spare. If you still have something with the vin number you can look up the vin online and see where it's at now. You'll likely find the auction listing and maybe a used car lot it's at selling for 8k in that condition.

1k for a running 4x4 crew cab is criminal. 5k would be my bottom dollar for something clean.
the wholesaler gave the dealer at least 1.5k, I would bet 2k.
Read above and weep…$1000
I hope there is a missing zero there.
WOW, $1000 bucks. I would have bought it just with the pics for 5K.

Stealerships are just that, but if people allow it, then I suppose the transaction was fruitful. They will turn around and sell for 12-15 watch.

If I had the time and patience to sell it private party, I would because I know the right buyer would pay $5k for it. The wheels and tires alone are $2k. Someone is gonna pick up this nice, clean avalanche. I went to 4 different dealers and they all offered $1k for the avalanche. The dealer I purchased from was the only one that knew the value of it so he lowered the price (during negotiations) on the Canyon to make up for it, where the other dealers did not really want to budge. I walked away from the first 3 dealers and none of them called me back or followed up when they knew I serious about purchasing. Perhaps they didn’t want to sell a truck

The overall truck is improved in areas such as interior quality....ever seen a 900 without a cracked dash or door pull falling off? The looks are better (subjective I know) and the ride was improved along with more features and less cheap interior design. Of course the K2 has it's own issues as well but my opinion was based on the overall product. I would take an 800 over a 900 anyday...and worst part?? I was on the GMT900 launch team lol so I know the vehicle and when we we launced the K2 it had a lot of improvements that we learned from 900.
