Traded in Dart, gained Veloster.

Traded in my 2013 Dodge Dart SXT 2.0l
Gained a 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo 1.6l
Got a good rebate deal as well as talked it a few K down.

More, or less, was tired of the first model year kinks (Not all being Mechanical..

Fun little car, turn ratio is killer
Got it in Automatic, 7 Speed.

Gas Mileage is on par with the Dart.


Ill always love my Dodge, and this will be my first personal "Import make" (Not counting parts made in other countries on my 2005 Ranger or my 13 Dart)

Glad I made the choice. Its no GTI, BRZ or WRX, but its good enough for me.

Anyone looking for a sporty hatch and looking, the Veloster is still worth a look IMO.

Why not get it with a manual transmission ?

Velosters are certainly unique - I love the 3 doors. I'm still getting used to my Dart that I bought used last year. What I like about the Dart is the roomy interior, which I need. Also, it's my 1st car with a GPS & backup camera - which are both sweet.

Ill be honest, I always thought they were a bit ugly. I thought they looked sharp from up front, but from behind... meh.

They are really starting to grow on me though. Much better looking than the Accent/ Elantra hatchback.

*The spec'd oil for these things is quite controversial. I want to say the turbo models get a 5w30 A5/B5 which is rather hard to find?

All the FWD Hyundai/Kias I've owned or test driven had bad manual transmissions and/or bad clutch actuation/throttle programming.

Hyundai has a problem figuring out the clutch actuation and drive-by-wire throttle programming. They either don't care or aren't able to improve it.

They aren't fun to drive like other brands that do a better job with manuals.

I think they're sweet looking cars. I remember the first time I saw one I followed it for awhile to see what kind've car it was,kind've exotic looking. Everyone I know who has a Hyundai loves it!

I love the handling on the highway to [censored] I-35.

Gas mileage may be a bit more than my Dart.

Looking at the OM last night, Hyundai is very liberal on their Oil Specs.
This thing recommends everything from 0w20 to 20w50.

Inside the hood it states Hyundai recommends either Quaker State or Shell Helix.

I'm 6 ft 1, 240Lbs. I fit in it just fine.

Not accustomed to back up cameras. I'll keep it that way too. Nothing is safer to me than looking behind. Maybe verifying on the Camera.

I'd like to see FCA adopt a similar styling for say a new Gen PT cruiser.
Possibly a wagon variant for a new Magnum.

I am thinking a 5w40 T6 or a 10w40 QS.
Paired with a Hyundai OEM Filter (what I hear, they're low efficiency, but I'm not going to disturb that hornets nest)

Probably change first at 1000-1500mi

I'm going to Dallas tomorrow for Wrestlemania. So that trip from Killeen should be a blast...

I like the looks of them . I don`t know much about them though . The reliability record, ride and gas mileage and so on . I did have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra that I like real well that gave me no problems in around 45k miles , but I`ve been trading in cars every 4 1/2 to 5 years for awhile now. My only bad habit

+1. Id be concerned mainly about the lack of utility of the veloster for the long run... Other than horrid headlights, I found the Dart to be a great rental car, and Im sure it was a great DD.
