Toyota 2.4L Turbo engines have problems?

I've been driving like Ms. Daisy recently, 0w20 will be just fine for my application.

They’ve had a turbo 4 in the Lexus GS for nearly a decade now. It’s not heavily advertised, but Toyota does have some accumulated experience. Except for being slow compared to the hot v6 they put in that car, I’ve heard of no reliability issues with it, and personally wouldn’t hesitate to own one.

2 weeks ago, I asked about the Tundras with their 3.4L V6 and learned they were having problems with them. Now I like to hear about these 2.4L turbo engines they are putting in the Tacomas starting in 2024, and been doing it in the Highlander for a few years now.

In high altitude states especially over 5k feet the turbo makes a huge difference.
