Bought a '24 Titan after long search ....

Cool. So the only real difference between those and your 2024 is the "new" 9spd AT.

I don't have concerns with the VQ38DD in my 2022 Frontier. It's been flawless since I bought it with 2K miles on it. It also doesn't blacken the engine oil nearly as bad as the problematic VQ35DD did in my 2019 Pathfinder.

I've heard great things about the Frontier! Actually looked at one several months back, only dealbreaker (all midsize) is smallish backseat with two kids. Otherwise, really thought it was well-done (y)

I watched a video on how to access the valves for cleaning (same procedure if you ever do need to do the starter replacement), if you have a decent amount of mechanical skill and tools it really isn't that bad; most complex thing is making sure the valves are closed/covered so you don't get media in the chamber.

Some people use catch cans, but I was concerned about missing it and getting concentrated blow by sucked into my intake; so my plan is periodic Gumout intake treatments (wait too long and it'll be too baked on) and if needed take off the intake. I view it as you can spend lots of small amounts of time dealing with the catch can or use it almost all at once doing the cleaning and the occasional intake treatment.

I do wish they had a factory catch can that drained back into the sump, my wife's Mazda 3 has one.

Once thing I've learned in my research is there is a staggering number of people who don't understand port injection vs GDI, I don't think I've ever seen a thread on the GDI intake buildup where someone didn't legitimately recommend getting high quality gas or a fuel additive because it worked on their older vehicle.
