Toughest, most durable wax/protectant

The best I've used so far is Duragloss - the SUV product is longest lasting but not made anymore. I have not tried Zaino (I know, what a looser I am), but Duragloss has bested all of these I've tested against: Liquid Glass (very close!), NXT, Black Magic Titanium, Meguires, Griot's wax and polymer products, Klasse (AIO), and more over the past few years.

I still love to have my vehicle's shine, but with kids and houses with yard and upkeep, and full size p/u's and a SUV and even age I hate to admit, I no longer have the luxury to spend all weekend with detailing with multiple steps.... Twice a year is all they get now days :-(

I can do the entire truck with 303 Aerospace Protectant in the time it takes to do the front fenders and hood with your typical wax or sealant.

Even if i had to apply twice as often, I save time and devote much less physical effort applying 303 vice that other stuff.

Results so far are good. Of course, barring the use of scientifically replicable testing methods, i can only offer subjective opinion BUT..... it IS Old Coot opinion delivered from within the shanty.

That's gotta' count fer' sumpthin', y'all.

I'm a big fan of 303 but it's not really meant to be used for that purpose is it? It will provide good UV protection but does it protect from acid rain, etc? Does it bead water for any length of time?

Due to strict water restrictions in Australia I was not able to wash and polish my 2 Toyotas for over 5 months until recent heavy rain enabled me to harvest sufficient water from the roof of my house to wash the cars. The polish I used 5 months ago was Meguires NXT and after just washing them the finish on both cars is as it was after I last polished them. I am well impressed and will not change from Meguires, as a bonus it is so easy to use.

I just gotta do it...I confess ...I'm a WetPaint Glaze user..(sob).

Only takes 30 minutes (or less) for a kick a$$ shine that lasts until the next time my Chevy work truck needs cleaning.

Use it on the wife's Miata too - it's 2 years and been washed probably ten times. She gets comments on the all the time. Cheers all!

Zaino ZCS is the way too go.
5 mionutes and you're done and happy.

Follow the instructions and prime a clean applicator with a spritz of the stuff. Spray very sparingly in small sections and wipe in with back & forth motions. 1/4 fl oz should be just about enough to cover your entire paint surface.Apply sparingly.
You should get 24-36 applications per bottle.
The applied CS will immediately look like you covered your finish with baby oil. Give it a few minutes and it will start to evaporate. Let it sit for about 15-45 minutes depending on temp and humidity and it should be gone. CS is designed to be compatible with all LSP's, not only Zaino, so you non-Z users can also lock in your shine and protection for months to come, whether you use an OTC or boutique sealant.

I just used the Zaino Clear Seal (CS) this weekend. I was very impressed. So easy to apply and looks great. I got up Friday morning, washed my car and decided I'd apply the CS because I was about to make a trip south. When I got home Sunday afternoon after driving over 600 miles, the front end of my car was coated with bugs. I washed the car again and the bugs, guts and juice all came off without any scrubbing. So nice.

Exactly what Colt and Shorty said, you can't layer ZAIO and for maximum protection you should put a coat of Z2Pro on top of ZAIO. For the ultimate wet look a layer of Z5Pro and Z2Pro, together they make a real nice look. But yes then you are getting into the work. Maximum protection is pretty easy, ZAIO followed by Z2Pro as thin as you can, 1/2 ounce should do a car. I assume CS is not as durable as Z2Pro or Z5Pro, that's why I'm not recommending it for "Maximum" protection. I highly recommend CS what it's purpose is, but Zaino sealants are the durable protection your looking for. Nobody can say for sure how durable CS is because it hasn't been out long enough. I'm not joking when I say I have tight beads on my truck for over a year from stacking z2pro/z5pro. I haven't renewed my truck becasue I'm extremely busy with work and family and I haven't had a chance to detail my own vehicle. Zaino spoils people like me who just are to busy to wax once a month!

I've received my ZAIO and CS awhile ago but haven't had a chance to use either one yet. I have a 3M Clear Bra on the hood of my car. I wax it along wit hthe rest of the car but I've been using Collinite which contains no abraisives.
Can I use ZAIO on the Clear Bra? I'm hoping so and I would think I can but just wanted to see if anyone knows for sure if it's recommended. Maybe I should call Zaino to ask?

ZAIO has a light abrasive.
I think you wuld be ok but playing it safe I'd call Zaino.
No problem with ZCS application on the bra.

What are your opinions on the most durable auto wax ???

I am looking for the toughest, longest lasting, most durable wax/protectant to protect my vehicles from the magnesium chloride here in Colorado. I think Turtle Wax HardShell is pretty tough, seems to be tougher and better bead than the Meguiars I just put on them. The Meguiars Cleaner wax I just put on them. The Meguiars seems to apply to the vehicle easier and rub off with less effort than the Turtle Wax. I just want a good tough wax, not particular about fine or subtle differences in appearance.

Collinite 426 Wax, Collinite 485 liquid both are excellent products and are very, very durable. You will not br disappointed.

I've heard of lots of folks using 303 this way. It feels just like a good polish once it is wiped dry. I think it would work fine. I don't know about the shine, but it certainly will protect against UV, and it doesn't wash off as easily as one would expect. I used it on my fiberglass bass boat and it saw lots of sun and rain and beaded water for a long period of time. I also used it on my Jeep soft top. I'm now using it on my painted aluminum Lund boat, but haven't tested it in the elements yet. (I applied it in the fall, before winter storage in my garage.)

I finally got around to applying ZAIO followed by two coats of CS. I waited an appropriate amount of time between coats. Both products were very easy to use and the shine is very nice.
But I have to say, the water beading is no where close to the beading of Collinite wax. In fact, the Zaino is beading water about as well as Collinite did after it had been on the car for 6 months. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Collinite since it beads water better than anything else I've ever used.
I really hope that Zaino will last 6+ months because Collinite lasted that long for me and I was hoping Zaino would be an improvement in durability.
