Topgear

I just wish this country could produce their own decent car tv show. The US Topgear is even worse than I thought it would be. The rest of the US made shows are just long commercials masquerading as a car tv show.

I must say, now that I've watched a few of this season's episodes, it's light years better then last year. I was LMAO. They're actually making it more American based instead of trying to emulate the British version. Plus, they're actually...funny.

I watched the $500 car "race" from LA to SF. I'm sorry, but that was hilarious. You can't help but to want to beat the shoot out of the fat guy and him in that Fiesta was perfect. The East guy in the Crown vic had BITOG all over it and the skinny nervous guy in a beater MB, well that was rest of the world.....I loved when the NY guy was saying "....people are all filled with fluids and sometimes.....the fluids get out..." Yeah his rear seat was filled with blood and puke....holy moley.....

I've always enjoyed the US version of Top Gear, and I think this season is the best they've had yet, at least so far. I'm apparently in the minority who thinks that the three personalities play well off each other, and I like the varied selection of vehicles they drive on that show.

Have you watched this season? It's light years better then last season.

When the guy was describing the Corvette ZR-1 and how it represents America and most of thhe rest of the world views America as arrogant, his response was.........F YOU. I was crying laughing. He put Jeremy Clarkson in his place!

The US version IS bad, but it's getting better. I love the UK version! I watch it every night and it drives my wife crazy! I do like the way TGUS has American vehicles on there. I especially like that they include TRUCKS in the show. When was the last time TGUK had trucks (lories)...NEVER! Ok, maybe one or two but hardly ever pickup trucks. Can U see Clarkson drifting a F150 or a Duramax!

Clarkson drove an F-150 Lightning through London IIRC, it was hilarious.

What, the 5000 lb towing capacity on the Lightning doesn't make it a truck?

(Of course the payload was only about 800 lbs...)

I saw the power numbers on the Lightning Engine again - 360hp, 440ft-lbs of torque. Compare that to the new ecoboost (365hp/420 ft-lbs) and it doesn't sound quite as outrageous anymore, does it? Granted, that was in a light package compared to the current generation F150...

OK, I'll consider it a "truck", happy? lol. It's just not something I'd use AS a work truck. Kinda like using a hopped up an El Camino to tow a travel trailer.
