So today I did some detailing work on the Accord. Since I purchased it over a month ago, it has had some hazy spots in the paint. It is the Taffeta White single stage paint, so its more prone to oxidation than a base / clear coat system. Products used were a Harbor Freight DA polisher, HF orange pad (for swirl/scratch removal), Meguiars Ultimate Polish, Optimum Opti-Seal, and some Blue Coral car wash for getting it cleaned up before and after polishing. I started with a wash and dry, then began the polishing process. I worked on one panel at a time except for the hood and roof which I divided into 4, and 2 sections respectively. This was my first time using a DA (or any) polisher, and it was very simple to use. After polishing each panel I washed the car again because some of the foam had been eaten off the pad and was all over the car. Once the second wash was complete I dried the car then topped with Optimum Opti-Seal.
** In additon to this detail, I removed the factory pin stripes, I figured now was as good a time as ever since I was going to be polishing the paint and they would just be in the way (and since I didn't care for them to begin with), I prefer the cleaner look without them. All in all this detail went well from start to finish, and the paint is MUCH improved. Its not perfect but its now at a level that I am satisfied with.

Looks pretty perfect in the pictures! I didn't realize Honda still applied pinstripes at the factory, is that on all Accord trim levels?

I'll be the first to say its not perfect, but its a marked improvement. I believe they were only applied on the EX-L trim, but I could be wrong. To me pin stripes seem like they belong on old Buick's.

Show the panel that you are not happy with. As far as I am concerned, your pictures shows great finish and we are having hard time understanding what you are worried about.

That's the beauty of white paint. It cleans and polishes up beautifully.

I used to have a white Volvo and it looked really good after a bit of work.

Looks great man. I love white cars. My last Civic was white, and I almost traded in for a white Si but I figured I needed to change it up (It's blue)

How have you liked having a white car? (besides the blemishes)

Every white car I've been around has been easy to keep clean and not had to be washed very often. My grandfather's Jeep Cherokee is white and hasn't been taken to the car wash in months and months. And it's been raining most days at night for the past month with dust storms. Looks just fine.

I like to color as a color, it looks a little sporty

As far as keeping it clean, it does show MORE dirt than my previous Accord which was Desert Mist Metallic. Road grime and water spots stick out on white, I am not sure why people think white is easy to keep clean. Maybe I was just spoiled with the color of my last car.

I didn't use Mothers, I used Meguiars...and honestly its a pretty stout product. It did the job without any fuss, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg so to speak.

I wish you're around in So Cal so you can help to keep my cars looking as good as yours.

The last time I had my cars detailed at the car wash shop was 7-8 years ago. Since then I only apply Eagle 1 Wax as You Dry once every 3-4 months, sometimes twice a year.

The headlight cover is pretty clean/shinny, do you try to apply something to protect it against the sun ?

Yes, I applied Optimum Opti-Seal since I had it out for the paint. However, I do apply either a wax or sealant to the headlights every time I wash the car. I can see where the film is flaking off of the headlights, so its important that I keep some protection on there.
