Tires for 2000 Accord- 3 choices

Hey guys- looking for more input on rubber choices.

Size will be 195/65-15.

Am undecided between these three:

(by ascending price)

-General Altimax RT43

-Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus

-Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Turing (has a $140.00 prepaid VISA gift card, bringing the price down to about the same as the Generals

Criteria are- good snow traction and good ride, followed up by not being mushy/wallowy in the corners (don't need slot car handling). The rest can suffer, but long wearing would also be nice.

I am also open to other suggestions, but don't want to break the bank.

Yokohama are great tires that are priced well, so are Cooper tires.

Other good ones:
Continental Procontact with Ecoplus - best choice in same price range as the others you mentioned. LRR.

Michelin Premier A/S - Best tire I have every owned, lasts longer so about the same per-mile cost (about $30/tire more), but not a LRR tire, really good in rain.

Running the RT43 V rated on Accord EX 3.0L now, I'd recommend them.

The RT43 is a popular tire on here, well-regarded. You should also consider the Dunlop Signature II, a quality tire at a great price that's American-made

The Kumho Solus TA71 is also worth considering.

Generals hands down. I've had Discount Tire put them on my Camry and the 1970 VW Beetle last year, and last week I had a set put on my mom's 2012 Jeep Patriot. They really are that great.

Personally, I'd like you to get the Goodyears and give an opinion on them. It seems like some people recommend the General RT43's that have no actual experience with them.

If snow and ice performance is a priority then I don't think that the Yokohamas will fit the bill. Both the original and the newer Plus versions don't seem to be rated well where snow and ice performance is concerned. That makes sense considering it's more of an Eco LRR tire than the others listed.

You're getting a more expensive tire for the same price.
A lot of replies are recommending tires the OP didn't mention

Generals, I put them on everything. Theyre awesome tires.

Personally, I think these cars look best with a 205/65-15 like the V6 models got. 195/65s look small even on a Corolla or Prius.

Just something to consider... they will not look "huge" by any means.

I really don't know much about the second and third choices, but I can tell you that we put RT43s (T rated) on my daughter's new Impreza and have been very happy with them. The OEM tires had horrid reviews, so we dumped them right away. We didn't have much of a winter her to really test their snow/ice performance, but she told me they felt very secure on what bad days we did have, and we have some nasty hills to deal with in our neck of the woods.

I strongly considered these for my FXT, but went with more of a performance tire in the GY Sport AS. I run snows since I can't stay home during big storms like the part time worker and student in my house, so I didn't really need a jack of all trades tire like the RT43.

I'm not seeing the ProContact with Ecoplus available to me.

The Goodyear looks like it'd fit the bill nicely- I wonder if why they don't get the recommendations? Not many people owning them?

Actually I messed up. The $140.00 rebate I thought I could get is only $70.00. To get the $140.00 rebate, you have to get their Goodyear credit card and I'm not going to do that. The price is now about the same as the Brigestones.

I would be interested in doing that, but I don't want the snow performance to suffer. It wouldn't make much difference in the speedo I see...
