Why?

Always had a fondness for the 2stroke and this was the last model Yamaha imported kind of in your face to the EPA.

Guys -- I'm going to classify V-Stroms and Versys' as Adventure touring, Dual-Sports are like KLRs and DRs. I will add a Standard category for those types of bikes. Also, I guess I need to add vintage too.

Thanks for responses, no thanks for the beginning of the sparring matches. Can't you all let that go?

Why?

Always had a fondness for the 2stroke and this was the last model Yamaha imported kind of in your face to the EPA.


That was the last air cooled two stroke they exported. Then came the RD350 LC liquid cooled, followed by the RZ350 which I think ceased production in Japan in 1992. Production then shifted to Brazil and stopped there in 1996.

That's a real gem you have there!
