Those Darn Hard water Spots.

Recently painted 96 Toyota Camry in the factory color.(Urthane base and clear coat)

Washed it and removed all of the pine tree sap using
Dawn dish soap.

However, a few water spots remain. A Clay Bar removed some but still a few are visiable.

Any advice Gents?

Distilled white vinegar, just sponge it on full strength, let set a full minute, wash and wax the area. If really bad you might had to resort to a polish.

That Dawn is strong. You removed wax.
Re wax her.

Pine tree sap = MAJOR PITA

There are pine trees in the parking lot at work. I have those little dots all over my Avalon.

If the vinegar doesn't help, go to a cleaner wax that will act as a light polish or polish then wax.

Be careful with that stuff, I used it and ended up with a patch of lightly scratched paint. Some polish took care of it, but I wasn't real happy about the paint getting scratched.

This is the first time I have ever heard of water spot remover scratching paint, It would be more likely it was wash media or towels that caused the scratching.

Do you have a link to Meguair's water spot remover? I don't think I have seen one unless it is a very new product. Did they just re-bottle SwirlX / ScratchX / Ultimate Polish etc?

Frankly, keep bottles of UC and UP handy and 90% of your paint correction can be handled with them with suitable applicator and lots of your own muscle or dual action polisher.

I used my fingertip, and yes it was clean! I could feel the grit in the stuff, and the scratching was uniform over the area I tested it on.
