I saw $3.08 at a couple of sations here yesterday.
Gas prices have been trending down over the past couple of months.
Fall is typically a season of lower gas prices.
You can also credit the remarkable growth in North American oil and gas production as well as slowling growth in the Chinese economy.
OT, if you think that the US had a private sector debt problem in 2008, you should take a look at China.

Bought 93 this AM for 3.45. Regular here is 3.04.

Seems sad to be celebrating these prices. As Dave said above, enjoy it while you can!

The oil companies succeeded didn't they? LOL When it was $4.00+/gallon $3.15 sure feels like it's being given away.

Paying around $3.30-$3.70/gal of 93octane at shell stations here. With the GIANT reserves found in Pennsylvania, I'm really hoping prices drop down more.

I can [censored], moan, and groan about big oil taking advantage of us all day - but at the end of it all I still gotta pay what they charge. So, I just hope it goes down.

I remember being in Arizona on a work assignment back in 1999. I had a rental car for the entire time and had to buy gas. The most common price for unleaded regular at name-brand gas stations like Chevron and Mobil was 79.9 cents/gallon. Now that was practically giving gas away.

However, I got to expense all that. I did fill up on my own dime during the weekend when I took a personal trip, but since I was forced to be there I still got the hotel room, rental car, and per diem covered.

In Powell last night 87 was in the $2.93-2.94 range. Over the county line (Franklin) it was over 3$.

87 reg $2.67 here in southern indiana. $2.95 for 93 premium. Which is what my car required. All time low. What is going on?

$3.47 here in HArtsdale, NY that's the lowest it has been in a long time...so sad. Here they make it tuff to follow but we pay 50 to 60 cents total tax per gallon. Diesel being the most taxed.

Filled two cars today for 2.94, plus a couple of cans for the mowers.
The cars took only twenty gallons between them, but I couldn't pass the price up.
I thought I'd done well filling another yesterday for 3.04.

Here in Bergen County, NJ, the Delta station two blocks from my house is at $2.99. It was down to $2.95 for a single day this week, I think it was on Wednesday.

You may feel a little better knowing that we in So Cal paying more than $3.60 for regular at name brand stations. The lowest price in Southern Orange County is more than $3.70.
