There is nothing like a Rolling Stones concert

I don't think greed has much to do with this. Most musicians sing and play because that's what they love, that's what they do. Bands a lot less popular than the Stones will still play in small clubs, because that's what they can fill.

The joke is usually that there's the "county fair circuit". I remember taking the family to a county fair once, and there were a lot of people there wearing Tesla t-shirts. Apparently they were performing later that night. I returned once, and we stuck around for the daily performance, which was someone who hit it big about 20 years ago but flamed out.

He was excellent. Not perfect at times. During his set in the middle, he spoke nicely to the crowd. Said he was happy and then just smiled. I got a feeling of "farewell".
I wish I went to the show in Vancouver. I did see them in ‘94 at BC Place, which was a great show. Richards has always been my favourite Stone.

I see they played Far Away Eyes…I would have gone crazy. Great song…

Couldn't pay me enough to go see the stones.
On the other hand, the Whitney Houston concert I went to in the 80s in Ottawa, just wow.
Alana Myles, in a smaller setting was something else too.
Alana miles had that one hit "Black Velvet " then disappeared. Apparently shes trying to make a comeback this year.

I might be unpopular for saying this but I have never understood the appeal of the Stones. It’s just basic music to me, none of it really wows me. I do prefer much heavier music but I can also appreciate other stuff if they are really talented but I have never thought of these guys as being super talented musicians.

I'll be even more unpopular.... I remember as a kid thinking the Stones were sort of like the Monkees, except maybe just one more rung up the ladder towards being a "real" band. Kind of like "background noise" on the radio they play in-between the songs from real bands.

Ironically, my own band does "Gimme Shelter". We have a show tonight.... It's actually a fun song.
