RIP Brad Arnold - 3 Doors Down frontman dead at 47

[OVERKILL]

After a relatively brief battle with kidney cancer, Brad Arnold, who was the lead singer for the band 3 Doors Down has passed away.

I saw them in concert in Moncton back in 2017, and they were one of those bands that sounded as good or better live than on the album.

Brad was only a year or so older than me, so this hits a bit harder, given that fact.

He seemed like a genuinely amazing guy.

Great band, smooth pipes. Sounded like the south.

It’s especially sad because if detected early enough (like with me) kidney cancer is very treatable. But unfortunately there aren’t any symptoms early on that would alert someone that they have it. They would need to get a CT scan done periodically to make sure that nothing is going on.

It’s really too bad. I lump them in with my favorite music genre, divorced-dad-rock.

Saw them in concert with Finger Eleven and Creed in 2024.
