There is nothing like a Rolling Stones concert

I’ve seen them 5x. 4x were great. 1x was blah- they were just going thru the motions and collecting a paycheck. When Mick is on- he’s absolutely a showman. Hard to believe with all his prancing around on stage he’s the same age as Biden.
Maybe that's why he stays so "young". There has to to be people in retirement homes that are younger than him.

I've never been a huge Stones fan but I appreciate their hits.

I once checked out a Rolling Stones anthology CD collection from the library. It was like there are two different kinds of Rollings Stones songs. The ones that you've heard on the radio which range from pretty good to great and the second kind are the ones you've never heard on the radio which almost uniformly range from mediocre to really bad.

I remember hearing this in a movie. Had no idea who it was since it didn't even sound like Mick Jagger. Just sounded like a random folk song that somehow fit in with the movie. Found out what it was in the credits.

Sounds like Mick is doing kind of a Bob Dylan impression on that track.

Anything made of latex???!
When I was a kid they had these fishing ponds right in the middle of the city, Fairfield, California. I was fishing with some buddies and snagged a full on leather bondage outfit. Didn't know what it was at the time. One of my buddies came walking back with a large latex implement and I was stunned. Why? What for? Anyways, this was in the early 1970's. Mick Jagger would have only been in his 60's.

I was down in Silicon Valley for work reasons yesterday. But I was listening to traffic reports warning about the Stones concert at Levi's Stadium, as well as Hootie & the Blowfish at Shoreline.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Hootie & the Blowfish topped a rock bill at Shoreline Amphitheatre that included Collective Soul and Edwin McCain. While it wasn’t the highest-profile concert in the Bay Area on Wednesday—not even in the South Bay—the three acts delivered with performances that dipped into country, folk and more than a little bit of bluegrass by the headliners.
“I guess you guys couldn’t get tickets to the Stones tonight,” Hootie frontman Darius Rucker said, not only to attendees but his own band. That wasn’t necessarily true, of course, as there were plenty of tickets unsold for the Rolling Stones, who were playing just south at Levi’s Stadium and with resale tickets dipping to $50. No, those who came to Shoreline chose to see the beloved acts from South Carolina and Georgia.

OK, I'll be the dissenting voice. This is a form of elder abuse (self-induced). While I grew up listening to many of the greats, there should be a time for these guys to wheel off to the retirement home. Most simply cannot hit the notes or handle the rigors of a live show...and that's OK.

I saw Rush in Phoenix a little over a decade ago and it was apparent Geddy Lee had lost most of his unique vocal ability. I was actually a bit saddened for him, but hey, it was a great run.

About the only guy I've heard who can still hit the notes as he did 50 years ago is Dennis DeYoung (formerly of Styx). Excellent pipes at 70+ years of age!

As for the rest, please pass the torch and maintain some level of dignity.

Dignity?!? It's the dollars!

I wonder if unsold tickets are a result of scheduling a show at a major venue on a weeknight? I would think such a huge metropolitan area deserves a Saturday night show, not a Wednesday. The audience is no longer teenagers and 20-somethings who can sleep until noon the next day.

Keith Richards cutting off on his guitar solos. Did he get lazy or got too old to play?
He was excellent. Not perfect at times. During his set in the middle, he spoke nicely to the crowd. Said he was happy and then just smiled. I got a feeling of "farewell".

Yeah Mick in the video has a range of like 4-5 notes. :) Given that he's only 5 years younger than my dad, that's pretty darn good.

Is that Ron Wood standing next to Keith?
Yes. As the show went on, you could tell they were really enjoying themselves.

I think Mick and Keith are 81, and counting. Try high energy calisthenics for 2+ hours. I doubt there are many, if any, other bands, at any age, that play with this much energy.

Couldn't pay me enough to go see the stones.
On the other hand, the Whitney Houston concert I went to in the 80s in Ottawa, just wow.
Alana Myles, in a smaller setting was something else too.

The 2nd song was "Get Off My Cloud" from 1965. One of my favorites. "Start Me Up" then "Coud" and we were out of our minds.
The song was written after pressure to follow up "Satisfaction"; Mick wanted them off their backs. The song was written partly as a joke.

Who knows. They had two dates in LA and one was on a Wednesday. I looked at their June schedule and it was Monday (Orlando), Friday (Atlanta), Tuesday (Philadelphia), Saturday (Cleveland), Thursday (Denver), Thursday (Chicago), Sunday (Chicago). These are all football stadiums in June, so it's not like they'd be used for the primary tenants.
