The Valvoline Rebates (NO LEGAL TALK!)

Yeah, just got mine back today. Walmart again. And to think Meijers across the street had it cheaper. Anyway, I'll call tomorrow.

I got a letter today stating that my submission was not accepted because the Wal-Mart receipt "fails to clearly indicate the oil purchased". I can't believe this, the receipts indicates 6 bottles of "Motor Oil $4.27" each.

Too frustrated, I just returned the oil tonight for a my money back.

inkjet & davefr, I'm guessing that this was for the Syn & not the maxlife? How long did it take before you got the form letter?

Just got off the phone with the processing center for this rebate. They will honor these rebates. Call and they will give you a persons name to send it to the attention of. A major hassle, but at least I get my money. Will I ever buy Valvoline again? Yes. Will I ever buy Synpower again? Probably not. Now if I could get a Group III 5w40 for a reasonable price I would probably run it in winter, but not at $4.29 per quart.

When links to rebates are posted in the future, I am going to call the company and ask if it is legitimate before I hassle with sending it in.

I don't get it.

If you are supposed to send in the rings, how are they guys whose rebate was denied returning the Valvoline? Were they supposed to include them and forgot?

You had the option of sending the bar code from the case (which holds 6 quarts) and would therefore still have the rings intact.

I still have not recieved my rebate, I sent in the forms and everything... If I get a letter like above...this stuff is getting returned! and Im never buying valvoline again!

Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40 is sold by the gallon at most WalMarts. The last I saw it was priced at $12.48/gallon which is $3.12/quart.

All reports are that it is a Group III oil.

Son of a gun if I didn't have a gallon of that in hand at Walmart last week. I toyed with buying it to run next winter, thinking that the diesel rated oil would do some cleaning, the 5w would flow better on cold start, and the 40 is what my engine likes--perfect! I put it back on the shelf since I have three cases of varioius oil at home and winter is a long way off. That is a great price too. I'll keep it in mind and if it goes on sale, may grab a jug.

fwiw, Rotella syn is a great product. I am doing ARX now and cannot use any ester oils for a while. I stuck with Rotella in the dino 10w-30 until winter and the next synth my car will see is Rotella synth with a maintenance dose of ARX. After that, who knows? I will probally change over to M1 SUV. Only 7 cases of GC yet to consider the fate of.

I just got my $5.00 dollar rebate check from Valvoline today. It was for a case of all climate. The oil was on sale and final cost was .89 a qt. It is good to use in the lawn mower and roto tiller. Should get the $11.60 max life rebate in a few days. That makes 20 quarts of free max life since last November.

I guess that answers my question. You don't have any problems getting multiple rebates at the same address?
