How about 0-60 in 2.8 sec and 1/4 in 10. Ride a motorcycle and smile . . . also 40 mpg.

Anyway, the Mazda Speed3, might beat 'em all including the WRXsi

How about 0-60 in 2.7, 0-100 in 6.8, and OVER 1.2G in the turns?

Oilnoob, next time you're out shopping for a car, make note of the connection between high power and high safety standards (brakes, tires, suspension, lights). If you want a car with good brakes that can get out of its own way, you're also going to get a high power engine. If you want HID lights, you're going to be shopping the performance side of the showroom. Yeah, it's an arms race, but sometimes the high tech stuff trickles down, like in that bada$$ Altima that scared you.

The altima didn't scared me. it's just felt overpowered. most of what you said don't make any sense at all. 400hp car are for posers who will never use it, nor will be able to.

NO PERSONAL ATTACK OR NAME CALLING ALLOWED

only weighs around 1,000 pounds. Engine choices are: inline honda 2.0 liter inline 4, with up to 300 Horsepower if supercharged. And get this: the GM ecotech 2.2, with up to 300 HP if supercharged.

Here is the original manufacturer's site:

And here is the site for the company selling them IN the US:

Are we sure ANY flavor of the current Evo (even the "de-contented" RS listed) is really under $30K?? I am just asking an honest question, NOT flaming, NOT "dissing" NOT starting a war, etc.
BTW; I agree with everyone on the WRX, and give Scooby credit/kudos for making it so downright affordable for those that want one.

I like my 07 Honda Accord V6. For me, it's the perfect balance of performance (0-60 in "around" 6), economy (27 mpg regularly, reasonable price, low cost-of-ownership), style (leather, xm, everything except navi), and most of all, reliability!

Well-rounded is what I wanted, and I think that's what I got. I'll give up a half-second in the 60 for another 150K of life. Yep!

Usin' front wheel drive powertrain for mid-engined cars goes back at least to the Lotus Europa which used Renault power initially. I wanna build somethin' similar usin' the power train from the front wheel drive Lincoln with the Jaguar derived V8.
