I have read on here how people buy fluids from Costco. I've never been to Costco so I decided to check it out thinking they may just have some Chevron 10w30 or similar for a good price.

Well what a disappointment! This is all Costco thinks they can sell in Melbourne, Typical!

It is a good price though, the only time I've seen oil selling here for what it sells for in NA.

It looks a bit like Fosters beer...

We send it to the US, and they think "It's Aussie beer"...it is, but we don't drink it.

Guess it is because it,s a terrible beer. What do you drink then? :-)

But only 10w40 and 20w50 right. Yeah that's disappointing, it's very hard to find anything xw30 in Australia for under $10/L.

I like Coopers best extra stout, it is one very good stout.

I tried Fosters once, but lets not go there!

The Fosters we get in the US is actually brewed in Canada. It says "Imported" prominently on the label, but you have to read the fine print to find out from where.

The same time MaxLife inadvertently put it on their 10w-40. Of course, the API website shows that there are no 10w-40 varieties entitled to show the Starburst, not that they could pass the testing anyhow.

Chevron and Ashland are looking to get their knuckles rapped. I don't particularly like the misuse of the API's trademarks.

I do remember when there was a time when many 10W-40 oils got the API's "ENERGY CONSERVING" classification at the time. That seemed to go away once the SG category came into being. I was under the impression that the starburst could be applied to oils meeting that - at least until there was the ECII rating.

And back with maybe API SL, Mobil 1 0W-40 actually had "ENERGY CONSERVING" on the donut. Found a photo. Man I miss those angular bottles.
