Yep, fits with the "science" of GW. If you can't exactly prove it - get the courts involved!!

And, of course, in order to dismiss a theory or concept at a fundamental level, you need no evidence or proof. To heck with empirical evidence, inductive and deductive reasoning -- personal beliefs and wishful thinking will do a fine job in deconstruction.

Yes sometimes people have done that in the past. The interesting thing about GW you need only scant evidence or speculative proof to call for social change or a good court case. To heck with empirical evidence, inductive and deductive reasoning -- personal beliefs, crowd rallying, full court press coverage, suppression of opposing views and wishful thinking now do a fine job of construction of this new science.

Of course your bias is superior. Didn't know I even made any comment regarding GW. What's my bias? I thought I was simply pointing out the weakness of your bias, which is based on categorical denial and dogma.

Same place it came from before SUV and coal plants.

Empirical evidence and deductive reasoning point to the very thing you deny. Of course , you refuse to accept any evidence which doesn't support your opinion, so....

"The new US president would have to take the initiative analogous to Kennedy's decision to go to the moon."

That's what it would take. It's a shame that there's no one like him ..and no Americans left like there were when JFK was around.

There would/could be no rational objection to CLEAN energy independence for the USA ..and you have to start somewhere.

Why would anyone oppose this sensible move? I'd like to hear opposing points of view.

Gary, Oz has $20B of Govt surplusses that are largely gained from digging big holes in the ground.

I'd happilly have them contribute to a global renewable (as opposed to finite) energy scheme, and sooner rather than later...banned topic being real, or otherwise...fuel is finite, and our best brains and industries need to be stretched rather than imploding on trinket production.

The cheapest energy is sitting there for the taking, but there's no big corporation with a monopoly on conservation, so it gets pushed to the back burner.

Build a house with better insulation... save hundreds of gallons of oil per year, for 50 years.

Or maybe use less like turn the lights off in a room that you are not in.

People in this country can't seem to understand (bc the Government isn't telling them) : A gallon of fuel saved is better than drilling for one and even better bc it makes the other gallons cheaper by lowering demand.

Even if we had such an initiative, it would be long enough (in time) for the corporate vultures to realign and capitalize on. That's what lobbyist are for.

I don't see why they resist this realignment of shaking us down.

I mean the "wringing out" mentality has a pathetic track record. It's what kept antiquated steel mills from being upgraded ..allowing modern foreign plants to under cut us ...etc..etc. Get the last drop of worth and move on. Naturally it always leaves someone else holding the bag. Never proactive in a progressive or favorable manner ..and always doing damage in the exchange. Proud and noble people.

Yes. For someone who can afford it to begin with. Funny how all of those types of programs work. It's a public subsidy of upscale private enterprise for upscale people to take advantage of.

So I take a 2nd ...use the tax deduction, take the tax credit ..and actually produce sensible savings between the two even if no sensible electricity is produced ..all with OPM.

and if it's PV panels, you're in negative energy profit territory, if you add up the energy used in manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of the system.

On what expected service life of a PV system do you base that assessment?
