Seems all of my hyper little friends have left for warmer climes. Went through 2 feeder changes and no level drop. None. Haven't seen any either, as morning temps now are around 50°F. Good hot tub weather, but not for the metabolism of the colorful little buzzers. Dumped all 5 feeders and cleaned them out until next April. Hope they at least send a postcard 😁.

Same here for awhile now. I also miss the night sounds of tree frogs (almost deafening here) and various insect critters as summer subsides. We have feathered friends working over our sunflowers now. Autumn is never long enough for me.

Same here. We cleaned out our feeders and put them up until next year. My Butterfly bushes have stopped producing a lot of buds/flowers, and the butterfly numbers have dropped significantly.
The temps here are finally settling into the 40s-50s overnight, and the leaves at the edges of my maples are turning red. Today, we started at 47 degrees with a high of 81. Tomorrow, the high will be 66 with cloudy skies. It's finally starting to feel like Fall.

For that weather - I’d have helped them pack (can’t be that hard 😷)

Mine have been gone for about 3 weeks now.

In the PNW, we've had a consistent amount of them lately.
Strangely, their numbers are higher now than they were in summer (no flowers is my guess).

I would be so interesting to put a tiny little light weight camera on them and see what they do as they head south....

I love humming birds...always have from the time I first saw them on a trip out to Fullerton CA to see my Grandparents back in the early 1970s! They fascinated me. We live in the Northeast PA, NY, NJ, DE, and then near the Chicago area at that time and I was about 6 or 7 yo.
