Right. There's basically only two Honda filter sizes. Older Hondas took the 9688/3593a size (also M1-104 in mobil 1 branding).
Since the late 90s or early 2000s, Honda has uses the taller, skinnier filter known as x7317 (fram) or 4610 (purolator) or 84356 (carquest) or 57356 (wix).
There is a shorter version of the x7317 size can that is used on many Nissans. It is the x6607 in the Fram number system. Some filter vendors cross reference the shorter 6607 to 7317 applications, as it of course will fit in every case here a 7317 fits. However, it is smaller and has less space for media.
In most instances, the 6607 can be used without any detriment in a 7317 application. In highly transient duty cycles with lots of short trips and cold starts, the reduction in oil pressure delay from the smaller filter might be a net good thing.
