After my 2nd one, I’ve finally got it out of my system.
I loved that car. It drove brilliantly. Couldn’t really ask for anything more as far as driving experience. It was insanely comfortable. Amazing suspension. Super quiet. Really nice pep in its step with that 3.3L twin-turbo, 87 octane, and 4,500lb curb weight. Fantastic A/C (when it worked). Almost 117k miles.
But that was the last straw, I took it into the dealer in June because the A/C been acting up this summer and it randomly gets warm, usually at lower RPMs. It got a new compressor last summer. So summer of 2023 and 2024 was flawless A/C performance, but this year it randomly gets warm until I either get moving again from a red light, or traffic lets up and my speed is high enough for some good RPMs. The dealership recharged the A/C and it was 2oz low, that didn’t really help much. I took it back this past Monday and told them to drive it, so their master tech drove it home for 2 days, I sent them videos of the thermometer fluctuating and they sent it to Genesis corporate for tech support, and they say it’s normal because it’s hot here in Phoenix. I know it’s bologna, it was fine for 2 years prior and it does the same thing in the morning when it’s only 85* out. The big issue is the warranty I bought, the salesman had lied and told me I could take it anywhere for repairs. Turns out I can only take it to the selling dealer 30 miles away. I’m tired. It’s 118* outside. I’m fed up.
So off it went to CarMax. Got absolutely hosed on the trade-in value, these cars absolutely do NOT hold their value at all. Going to get something more simple and reliable. Not sure what yet. Glad I sold it before the value tanked, next year would have been even rougher.
No I don’t park like that, it was just for a dealership I texted for an appraisal.
