Brought my 07 Accord for a tire rotation today at DT. Car has about 19.5k and it had been about 7k since last rotation. Tires are OE Michelins.
Drove up, walked in and had to wait about 5 mins, to get waited on, as a few cusomers were being helped in front of me.
Took my information, mileage, and I was in the computer from previous rotations. Brought the car straight in, took the wheels off, and I looked at the brake pads. Still had plenty of pad, but interestingly there was more pad left in front than in back.
I go back into the shop and figure they are just going to rotate and I'm out of there. As I'm looking through window, I see them using a wire wheel brushes attached to air guns buffing the thin rust layer from the (alloy) wheels and the hubs where the wheels meet the hubs. They mount the tires, torque the lugs, and I'm done in 25-30 minutes, gratis.
Keep in mind, I did not buy these tires at DT, though I have bought three sets of tires from them. Told the tech I had never seen tire places wire brush the hubs and wheels. His comment "some places don't go the extra mile." I said, right you are.
Just another example of why, when it comes time for my next set of tires, I'll be buying at DT.
